Introduction:

Begin with a quick poll: “Which digital device could you not live without today?” Use the responses to link prior knowledge of devices to today’s focus on language for the digital world. Explain that by the end of the lesson students will accurately use new vocabulary and sentence patterns to describe functions, frequency and conditions, and produce a short written piece.

Lesson Structure:
  1. Warm‑up / Do‑now (5’) – Kahoot quiz on key tech vocabulary.
  2. Vocabulary & sentence pattern teaching (15’) – flashcard matching, model sentences, choral repetition.
  3. Listening activity (10’) – play the “set up email on a phone” dialogue; students note the three steps.
  4. Speaking role‑play (15’) – pairs act as tech support and user with a scanner problem, using conditional sentences.
  5. Reading comprehension (10’) – skim the “Advantages of Cloud Storage” text, answer MCQs.
  6. Writing task (15’) – draft a 120‑150 word email or short essay, peer‑check using the rubric.
  7. Consolidation & Q&A (5’) – recap objectives and clarify any doubts.
Conclusion:

Summarise the new vocabulary and sentence structures covered, highlighting how they were applied in the activities. For the exit ticket, each student writes one sentence describing a device function using a conditional phrase. Homework: write a 150‑word paragraph about your favourite electronic device, incorporating at least three of the learned vocabulary items and one conditional sentence.
