Lesson Plan
Grade: Date: 17/01/2026
Subject: Spanish
Lesson Topic: Communications and technology (e.g. the digital world, documents and texts)
Learning Objective/s:
  • Identify and use key technology vocabulary in oral and written Spanish.
  • Apply comparative and superlative structures to compare digital devices or services.
  • Write a formal email requesting a document, using appropriate courtesy expressions.
  • Explain digital security measures using simple future and conditional forms.
  • Discuss the impact of cloud storage on everyday document management.
Materials Needed:
  • Projector or interactive whiteboard
  • Printed vocabulary handout
  • Sample email template (printed)
  • Audio clips of spoken tech vocabulary
  • Whiteboard markers
  • Student notebooks or laptops
Introduction:

Begin with a quick poll: “¿Qué dispositivo usas más en tu vida diaria?” to activate prior knowledge. Show a short video of everyday digital interactions to hook interest. Explain that today students will be able to describe, compare, and write about technology in Spanish, and that success will be measured by accurate vocabulary use and a correctly formatted email.

Lesson Structure:
  1. Do‑now (5'): Matching activity – students match Spanish tech terms with English definitions.
  2. Vocabulary presentation (10'): Teacher displays slides with key words; choral repetition and pronunciation practice.
  3. Grammar focus (15'): Mini‑lesson on gustar, comparatives/superlatives, future simple, and conditional; guided worksheet for each structure.
  4. Communicative task – email writing (20'): In pairs, students draft a formal email requesting a previous lesson document, incorporating at least three courtesy expressions.
  5. Peer review (10'): Exchange drafts, use a checklist to verify vocabulary, grammar, and email format.
  6. Whole‑class feedback & mini‑quiz (10'): Kahoot quiz on cloud advantages/disadvantages and security tips.
Conclusion:

Summarise how the lesson met the objectives by reviewing the email checklist and key vocabulary. For the exit ticket, ask each student to write one sentence describing a benefit of cloud storage. Homework: compose a short informal text message inviting a friend to watch an online video, using at least one comparative structure.
