Grade: Date: 17/01/2026
Subject: Spanish
Lesson Topic: Clothes and accessories
Learning Objective/s:
  • Describe a range of clothing items and accessories in Spanish using correct gender and number.
  • Apply adjectives and demonstrative adjectives to give detailed descriptions of outfits.
  • Conjugate and use the verb llevar to talk about what people are wearing.
  • Make simple comparisons (más… que, el/la más…) about price, style or comfort.
  • Engage in a short role‑play to request and discuss clothing in a shop context.
Materials Needed:
  • Projector and screen
  • Printed vocabulary handout (Spanish ↔ English)
  • Worksheet for matching and fill‑in‑the‑blank activities
  • Flashcards with clothing images
  • Role‑play cue cards
  • Whiteboard and markers
Introduction:

Show a quick montage of fashion images and ask, “¿Qué llevas puesto hoy?” to activate prior knowledge. Review a few familiar clothing words, then explain that by the end of the lesson students will be able to describe outfits for different occasions using accurate vocabulary and grammar.

Lesson Structure:
  1. Do‑now (5’) – Students write three sentences describing what they are wearing today using llevar.
  2. Vocabulary flashcard race (10’) – Match Spanish items to English equivalents on the board.
  3. Grammar focus (15’) – Mini‑lecture on demonstrative adjectives and adjective placement; quick guided practice with sentence strips.
  4. Fill‑in‑the‑blank activity (10’) – Complete sentences with the correct form of llevar.
  5. Role‑play stations (15’) – Pairs act as shop assistant/customer, using at least five vocabulary items and three adjectives.
  6. Peer check & class share (5’) – Students read each other’s sentences, correcting agreement and demonstratives.
  7. Exit ticket (5’) – Write one sentence describing an outfit for a formal party, using a demonstrative adjective and a comparison.
Conclusion:

Review the key language: clothing vocabulary, llevar, adjectives, demonstratives, and comparatives. Collect exit tickets and remind students that their homework is to create a short paragraph describing an outfit for a weekend outing, incorporating at least three adjectives and one comparison.
