Materials Needed:
  • Projector and screen
  • Whiteboard and markers
  • Handout summarising AI techniques and ethical checklist
  • Laptop with internet access for a short video demo
  • Printed case‑study worksheet (AI in healthcare)
  • Sticky notes for brainstorming
 Introduction:
Begin with a provocative question: “Can a machine make moral decisions?” Connect to students’ prior knowledge of AI basics covered last week. Outline that by the end of the lesson they will be able to describe AI techniques, identify key ethical and ownership issues, and evaluate an AI system using a decision‑making framework.
Lesson Structure:
  1. Do‑now (5’): Students write quick responses to the opening question on sticky notes.
  2. Mini‑lecture (10’): Review AI techniques and introduce ethical concerns with a slide deck.
  3. Group analysis (15’): Small groups examine the healthcare case‑study worksheet and list ethical questions.
  4. Ownership discussion (10’): Whole‑class discussion of IP issues using the table from the notes.

Conclusion:
