Introduction:

Begin with a short video of a recent successful brand campaign to capture interest. Ask students what behind‑the‑scenes planning might have driven that success, linking to their prior knowledge of market segmentation. Explain that by the end of the lesson they will be able to construct the core sections of a marketing plan and identify how each part supports the overall objectives.

Lesson Structure:
  1. Do‑now (5’) – quick quiz on definitions of marketing objectives and SMART criteria.
  2. Mini‑lecture (10’) – overview of the five main components of a marketing plan.
  3. Group activity (15’) – analyse a provided case study to draft SMART objectives and list required resources.
  4. Research design task (10’) – in pairs, choose primary/secondary methods and map findings to the 7 Ps.
  5. Mix‑strategy workshop (15’) – each group creates brief actions for the 7 Ps that align with their objectives.
  6. Plenary (5’) – groups share key points; teacher summarises evaluation tools (KPIs, control mechanisms).
Conclusion:

Recap the link between SMART objectives, research insights, resource allocation, and the 7 Ps. For the exit ticket, each student writes one KPI they would use to monitor their plan. Assign homework: draft a one‑page marketing plan for a product of their choice, incorporating the components covered today.
