Subject: Business
Lesson Topic: the qualities entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs need for success
Learning Objective/s:
  • Describe the key qualities of successful entrepreneurs.
  • Explain the key qualities of successful intrapreneurs.
  • Compare and contrast entrepreneurial and intrapreneurial qualities.
  • Evaluate why these qualities are critical for business success.
Materials Needed:
  • Projector and screen
  • Whiteboard and markers
  • Handout with quality lists
  • Venn‑diagram poster paper
  • Sticky notes and pens
  • Worksheet for comparison activity
  • Exit‑ticket slips
Introduction:

Begin with a quick story of a famous entrepreneur and an intrapreneur to spark interest. Ask students what they already know about the traits that make these individuals successful. Explain that today they will identify, compare and evaluate those traits, and will be assessed through an exit ticket and a short homework task.

Lesson Structure:
  1. Do‑now (5') – Quick revision checklist on the board; students write down five common qualities.
  2. Mini‑lecture (10') – Present the eight entrepreneurial and eight intrapreneurial qualities using slides and the handout.
  3. Group Venn‑Diagram activity (15') – In small groups, students place qualities on a Venn diagram poster, using sticky notes.
  4. Whole‑class discussion (10') – Groups share findings; teacher highlights why differences matter for strategy and risk.
  5. Check for understanding (5') – Short Kahoot quiz covering key qualities.
  6. Exit ticket (5') – Write one quality they consider most critical and justify its importance.
Conclusion:

Summarise the overlapping and distinct qualities of entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs, linking them to real‑world business outcomes. Collect exit tickets to gauge understanding, and assign homework: research a real intrapreneurial project in a large corporation and write a brief summary of the qualities that drove its success.
