Introduction:
Begin with a quick poll: which non‑financial perks do you value most at work? Review prior knowledge of financial incentives and link to the broader concept of motivation. Explain that by the end of the lesson they will be able to identify, compare and apply a range of non‑financial motivators.
Lesson Structure:
  1. Do‑now (5’) – students list non‑financial perks they have experienced and share with the class.
  2. Mini‑lecture (10’) – overview of the nine motivators using a slide deck.
  3. Guided analysis (15’) – examine the summary table; pairs discuss benefits and implementation considerations.
  4. Case‑study activity (20’) – groups receive a scenario and choose two motivators to design a motivation plan; complete worksheet.
  5. Group presentations (10’) – each group presents key recommendations; teacher provides feedback.
  6. Check for understanding (5’) – quick quiz/exit ticket on definitions and applications.
Conclusion:
Summarise how non‑financial motivators complement financial rewards and can boost performance. Ask students to write one motivator they would implement in their future workplace as an exit ticket. Assign homework to research a real company that uses a specific non‑financial motivator and prepare a brief summary.
