Introduction:
Imagine a shop that never closes and can sell to anyone in the world – that’s e‑commerce. You already know how traditional retail works, so today we’ll explore how moving online changes the game. By the end of the lesson you will be able to list and evaluate the main pros and cons of e‑commerce for businesses.
Lesson Structure:
  1. Do‑now (5'): Think‑pair‑share – students list ways they shop online (activate prior knowledge).
  2. Teacher input (10'): Define e‑commerce and present key advantages using slides.
  3. Group activity (12'): Teams sort advantage/disadvantage cards onto a T‑chart and justify placements.
  4. Whole‑class discussion (8'): Consolidate findings, refer to the comparison table, and highlight key points.
  5. Case‑study application (10'): Small groups evaluate a fictional retailer’s decision to go online and present recommendations.
  6. Exit ticket (5'): Each student writes one advantage and one disadvantage that would affect their own business idea.
Conclusion:
We recap the main advantages and disadvantages and check understanding through the exit tickets. For homework, students will research a real company’s e‑commerce strategy and write a short paragraph on how the advantages and disadvantages influence its success.
