| Lesson Topic: Write values into, and read values from, an array using iteration | |
Learning Objective/s:
Materials Needed:
Introduction: Begin with a quick question: How could we store the marks of an entire class in a single variable? Review that variables hold single values while arrays hold collections, and remind students of zero‑based indexing. Explain that by the end of the lesson they will be able to write to and read from an array using loops, which will be demonstrated through a marks‑entry program. |
Lesson Structure:
Conclusion: Summarise that arrays allow grouped data and that loops provide an efficient way to populate and retrieve those values. Ask a few students to verbally explain the write and read loops they used. Collect an exit ticket where each learner writes one correct array statement and one common mistake to avoid. Assign homework to modify the marks program to calculate and display the class average. |
