Introduction:
Begin with a quick world‑map quiz to activate prior knowledge of countries. Explain that today students will learn how to name countries, express nationalities and talk about languages in Spanish. Success will be measured by correctly completing the matching and translation activities.
Lesson Structure:
  1. Do‑now (5'): Students label a blank world map with country names in Spanish (check understanding).
  2. Mini‑lecture (10'): Present article rules and de + country using projector and examples (guided practice).
  3. Interactive matching (12'): Pairs match countries to nationalities on worksheets using flashcards (teacher circulates).
  4. Language practice (10'): Conjugate hablar + language names; fill in sentences on worksheet.
  5. Production activity (8'): Write a short paragraph introducing themselves, including country, nationality and languages; peer review.
  6. Error correction (8'): Whole‑class correction of common mistakes from practice sheet.
  7. Recap & exit ticket (5'): Students write one sentence using a country, nationality and language of their choice.
Conclusion:
Summarise the key grammar points about articles, ser and hablar. Ask students to write an exit‑ticket sentence demonstrating what they have learned. For homework, assign a worksheet to translate five additional sentences and practice pronunciation using the provided audio recordings.
