Materials Needed:
  • Projector or interactive whiteboard
  • Sample ICT product examples (brochures, videos, forms)
  • Printed audience‑purpose analysis worksheets
  • Laptops or tablets with internet access
  • Markers and flip chart
 Introduction:
Begin with a quick poll: who has created a document or video for a specific group? Discuss how knowing the audience shaped their choices. Today we will explore how audience and purpose guide ICT design, and by the end you will be able to match language, media and layout to a clear purpose.
Lesson Structure:
  1. Do‑now (5') – List recent ICT products used and guess their intended audience and purpose; share briefly.
  2. Mini‑lecture (10') – Define audience and purpose, present audience types and common purposes with examples.
  3. Interactive activity (15') – In pairs, complete the audience‑purpose analysis table for a chosen product type using the provided checklist.
