Subject: Global Perspectives
Lesson Topic: contribute to the Team Project
Learning Objective/s:
  • Describe the importance of clear communication in team projects.
  • Identify and apply key collaboration skills such as active listening and constructive feedback.
  • Use digital tools to plan, share, and track progress throughout the project stages.
  • Reflect on personal contribution and suggest improvements for future teamwork.
Materials Needed:
  • Projector or interactive whiteboard
  • Laptops/tablets with internet access
  • Printed handout of the communication checklist
  • Access to Google Docs/Sheets and Trello (demo accounts)
  • Canva or similar design tool for visual communication
  • Sticky notes and markers for brainstorming
Introduction:

Show a short video of a student team delivering a polished presentation to spark interest. Ask learners to recall a recent group activity and note what helped the team stay organized. Explain that today they will master practical communication and collaboration strategies so every member can contribute effectively. Success will be judged by completing the contribution checklist and demonstrating coordinated communication in a mini‑task.

Lesson Structure:
  1. Do‑now (5'): Students list three challenges they have faced in group work and share briefly (checks prior knowledge).
  2. Mini‑lecture (10'): Overview of communication types and key collaboration skills using slides.
  3. Tool demo (10'): Demonstrate setting up a shared Google Sheet and a Trello board for task allocation.
  4. Guided practice (15'): In pairs, create a brief project plan for a mock topic, assign roles, set personal milestones, and record them in the shared log.
  5. Feedback role‑play (10'): Practice giving and receiving constructive feedback with the “feedback sandwich” method.
  6. Reflection & checklist (5'): Students complete the contribution checklist and write a short personal reflection.
Conclusion:

Recap the main communication strategies and how the digital tools support teamwork. For the exit ticket, each student writes one specific action they will take to improve their next team contribution. Homework: update personal milestones in the shared log and bring a draft of their assigned section for the next class.
