Lesson Plan
Grade: Date: 01/12/2025
Subject: Information Communication Technology ICT
Lesson Topic: Be able to hide slides within a presentation
Learning Objective/s:
  • Describe what a hidden slide is and why it is used.
  • Demonstrate how to hide and unhide slides in PowerPoint, Keynote, and Google Slides.
  • Apply best‑practice guidelines to organise and test hidden slides before a presentation.
Materials Needed:
  • Computer with internet access.
  • Microsoft PowerPoint, Apple Keynote, and Google Slides installed.
  • Projector or interactive whiteboard.
  • Sample presentation file with multiple slides.
  • Teacher handout summarising hide/unhide commands.
Introduction:
Begin by asking students how they manage optional content during a live presentation. Connect this to their prior experience of adding extra slides for different audiences. Explain that today they will learn to hide and unhide slides efficiently across three common presentation tools, and they will be able to demonstrate the process by the end of the lesson.
Lesson Structure:
  1. Do‑Now (5') – Students examine a sample slide deck and identify which slides could be hidden.
  2. Teacher mini‑lecture (10') – Define hidden slides, reasons for use, and show the hide/unhide icons in PowerPoint, Keynote, and Google Slides.
  3. Guided practice (15') – In pairs, students open the sample file, hide selected slides in each application, and verify by running the slide show.
  4. Check for understanding (5') – Quick quiz using Kahoot or a show‑of‑hands on the command paths.
  5. Independent task (10') – Students create a short 5‑slide presentation, hide at least two slides, and document their purpose in a note sheet.
  6. Plenary (5') – Review best‑practice checklist and answer any remaining questions.
Conclusion:
Summarise how hidden slides help tailor presentations and the key steps to hide/unhide them. Ask students to share one tip they will use in future presentations. Collect exit tickets where each learner writes the hide command for one application. For homework, students modify an existing personal presentation by adding and hiding a supplementary slide.
