| Lesson Topic: State the function of bile and explain its role in the digestion of fats. | |
Learning Objective/s:
Materials Needed:
Introduction: Start with a quick question: “What happens to the greasy pizza you ate last night?” Connect this to prior learning about enzymes breaking down carbohydrates and proteins, reminding students that fats need extra assistance. Explain that by the end of the lesson they will be able to describe bile’s function and trace its role in fat digestion. |
Lesson Structure:

Conclusion: Summarise how bile emulsifies fat, creates micelles and enables efficient lipase activity and absorption. Collect the exit tickets to gauge understanding, and remind students to review the handout diagram at home. Homework: complete a worksheet that asks them to diagram the fat‑digestion process and label bile’s contributions. |
