Introduction:

Begin with a quick poll: “What would convince you to invest in a new business?” Connect responses to students’ prior knowledge of entrepreneurship and set the success criteria – students will identify the purpose of a business plan and explain each element.

Lesson Structure:
  1. Starter – Do‑now quiz on entrepreneurship concepts (5')
  2. Mini‑lecture: purpose of a business plan and overview of the eight elements (10')
  3. Group activity: complete the Overview/Summary and Objectives sections of the template for a chosen business idea (15')
  4. Market‑research task: gather basic data (demographics, competition) and fill the Market Research section (15')
  5. Finance exercise: calculate a break‑even point using provided cost figures (10')
  6. Whole‑class sharing: each group presents one section; peers give feedback (10')
  7. Plenary – recap key points, exit ticket (one‑sentence summary of why a business plan is essential) (5')
Conclusion:

Summarise how each element builds a coherent roadmap for a business and remind students of the exit‑ticket responses. For homework, ask learners to finish the remaining sections of their business‑plan template and prepare a short presentation for the next lesson.
