  • Calculate basic cloud service costs using given formulas.
  • Apply security best practices to mitigate cloud computing risks.
Materials Needed:
  • Projector and screen
  • Computer with internet access
  • ICT textbook or handout on cloud computing
  • Worksheet with cost‑calculation exercises
  • Whiteboard and markers
  • Access to cloud service provider websites (e.g., AWS, Azure)
 Introduction:
Begin with a quick poll: how many students have used Google Drive or Netflix today? Connect this to the concept of cloud services that deliver applications over the internet. Explain that by the end of the lesson they will be able to identify cloud characteristics, compare models, and perform simple cost calculations.
Lesson Structure:
  1. Do‑Now (5'): Students list everyday services they think run in the cloud and share responses.
  2. Mini‑lecture (10'): Present key characteristics, deployment models and service models using slides and the suggested diagram.
  3. Group activity (12'): Teams match examples to IaaS, PaaS, SaaS and complete a worksheet.
  4. Cost calculation exercise (8'): Guided practice using the provided scenario to compute monthly cloud costs.
  5. Security discussion (8'): Brainstorm cloud risks; teacher adds security measures (encryption, IAM, MFA, etc.).
  6. Check for understanding (5'): Exit ticket – write one benefit and one risk of cloud computing.
Conclusion:
